Support The G20 Presidency, PTBA Operational PLTS On The Bali-Mandara Toll Road

JAKARTA - The Solar Power Plant (PLTS) on the Bali-Mandara Toll Road is officially operating.

This PLTS was built by PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) through its subsidiary, PT Bukit Energi Investama (IDX) to support the activities and operations of PT Jasamarga Bali Tol (JBT), which is a subsidiary of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk.

With a maximum capacity of 400 Kilowatt-peak (kWp), this solar PLTS panel is installed at six points, each at access to and from the motor lane at 3 toll gates (GT) of the Bali-Mandara Toll Road.

The length of the solar panels for each point is one kilometer (Km).

The electricity supply obtained through the PLTS will be an environmentally friendly source of electricity for Public Street Lighting (PJU) lights, operational offices and also toll gates on the Bali-Mandara Toll Road.

In his remarks, Bali Governor Wayan Koster explained that the construction of PLTS on the Bali-Mandara Toll Road was in line with the vision of Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali which aims to preserve Bali's nature.

To realize this vision, the Bali Provincial Government has issued Governor Regulation Number 45 of 2019 concerning Bali, Clean Energy, one of which includes the use of environmentally friendly energy that will improve the image of Bali tourism.

In the future, Bali must be more qualified and competitive. To realize tourism in Bali in order to advance to class, environmentally friendly and sustainable tourism must be developed, one of which is realized through the construction of PLTS on the Bali-Mandara Toll Road," said Wayan Koster.

Assistant Deputy for Infrastructure Services at the Ministry of SOEs Hendrika Nora Osloi Sinaga appreciated the cooperation built by PTBA and Jasa Marga.

This is because this is one of the concrete steps to realize the reduction of global carbon emissions, which is one of the focuses on the agenda of the G20 Presidency in Indonesia.

This is the first time I have witnessed the toll road business process collaborating with the construction of PLTS, this is a very good breakthrough. The Ministry of SOEs strongly supports this collaboration which is in line with the target of achieving the national energy mix of New and Renewable Energy (EBT) of 23 percent by 2025," said Nora.

President Director of PTBA Arsal Ismail said that PTBA has a vision to become a world-class energy and chemical company that cares about the environment. The transformation is being carried out by PTBA, a portfolio of new and renewable energy-based power plants (EBT) continues to be expanded.

This is in line with one of the three agenda focuses in the G20 Indonesia Presidency, namely the sustainable energy transition.

"The company's business expansion to the new and renewable energy sector continues. One form of development is PTBA and Jasa Marga in collaboration with the development of solar power plants (PLTS) on the Jasa Marga Group toll road. This step is an effort to support global carbon emission reduction," said Arsal.

Jasa Marga President Director, Subakti Syukur, expressed his gratitude to the Bali Provincial Government and the Ministry of SOEs for their encouragement to implement environmentally friendly technology on toll roads through the utilization of PLTS, including the support for the arrangement program for the Bali Mandara Toll Road landscape.

Not to forget that Subakti also gave his appreciation to Bukit Asam Group, through PT IDX and PT JBT, which have jointly realized this PLTS facility well, according to the planned target.

In addition to switching to using new and renewable energy which is one of the efforts of green energy.

The work on the arrangement of the Bali-Mandara Toll Road is carried out to welcome the implementation of the G20 Presidency in Bali in November 2022.

A number of arrangements were made, namely, landscape structuring, green environment in the planting program totaling 756,800 mangrove seedlings, tree planting to garden construction, green energy in the construction of PLTS in collaboration with PT IDX, adding Balinese local culture to public street lighting ornaments (PJU), as well as renovation of toll gates and installation of Balinese dancer sculpture art works.
