PLN Operations Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU) In West Kalimantan

JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) in encouraging the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia is intensively building a Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU). The construction of this SPKLU continues to be carried out by PLN, one of which is in Singkawang, West Kalimantan.

General Manager of the Main Unit of the West Kalimantan Region, Ari Dartomo, explained that PLN inaugurated SPKLU with a capacity of 60 kW.

This step is PLN's commitment to supporting the Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicle (KBLBB) program launched by the government a few years ago.

"Until now, PLN has operated more than 142 SPKLU units spread across various strategic locations throughout Indonesia, while this SPKLU is the first in Singkawang City, and the second in West Kalimantan", said Ari in his official statement, Tuesday, September 6.

Singkawang Mayor, Tjhai Cui Mie, appreciated PLN's steps in encouraging the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia. With the massive electric vehicle infrastructure, the public is increasingly familiar with electric vehicles that have been supported by PLN by the inauguration of the first SPKLU in Singkawang City.

"We really appreciate PLN's efforts in providing convenience for users and owners of electric vehicles. The existence of this SPKLU in Singkawang City is in line with the Singkawang City Government's goal of creating a modern and green energy city", said Tjhai Cui Mie.

Similarly, Santoso (51), one of the owners of an electric car in Singkawang, said that the electric vehicle he used was very efficient and environmentally friendly compared to an oil-fueled vehicle.

"This electric car is also easy to operate. With a performance that is not inferior to oil-fueled cars, I think electric cars are very recommended to be used as family vehicles", said Santoso.

The inauguration of the SPKLU was also marked by the inauguration of the Electric Vehicle SingBeBas Community and a convoy of electric vehicles in the city of Singkawang, followed by the inauguration of electricity services at the Public Service Mall (MPP) outlet at Grand Mall Singkawang.

With the collaboration and opening of electricity services from PLN at the Public Service Mall outlets at Grand Mall Singkawang, services to the community are increasing.
