JAKARTA - The company owned by conglomerate Anthony Salim, PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (INDF) posted an increase in net consolidated sales by 12 percent to Rp52.79 trillion in the first semester of 2022. This achievement increased compared to the net sales achievement of Rp47.29 trillion in the same period last year.
The operating profit rose 4 percent to Rp8.83 trillion in the first semester of 2022, from the previous Rp8.49 trillion in the first semester of 2021. The operating profit margin fell to 16.7 percent from 17.9 percent.
Profit for the period attributable to owners of the parent entity fell 16 percent in the first semester of 2022 to Rp2.9 trillion from Rp3.43 trillion. The decrease was due to an increase in loss of exchange rate which had not been realized from funding activities. Net profit margins reached 5.5 percent from 7.3 percent in the same period the previous year.
Without taking into account the non-recurring items and the difference in exchange rate, the profit core increased by 2 percent to IDR 4 trillion from IDR 3.92 trillion.
Anthony Salim, who is the President Director of Indofood Sukses Makmur, said that despite the uncertainty of global conditions and the volatility of commodity prices continuing, Indofood could achieve a 12 percent sales value growth in the first half of 2022.
"We will continue to monitor the development of the global situation and focus on competitiveness of costs and maintain a balance between market share and profitability in domestic and foreign markets," said Anthony Salim in an official statement, Wednesday, August 31.
