JAKARTA - PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) through the Housing Finance Center (HFC) continues to encourage millennials to develop their potential to become housing developers.

To achieve this, one of the things BTN does is cooperate with the Bandung Institute of Technology Business and Management School (SBM-ITB) to hold a mini MBA training in the property sector.

Director of Finance Bank BTN Nofry Rony Poetra said, the backlog or housing gap currently reaches around 12.75 million units need to be found solutions so that they can be reduced significantly, one of which is by providing a fairly large supply of houses built every year.

"In order for the supply of houses to overflow, it takes many developers to build houses. This is the concern of Bank BTN to create young developers in various regions," said Nofry in signing the cooperation agreement (PKS) between Bank BTN and SBM-ITB, quoted by Antara, Monday, August 29.

The signing of PKS with SBM-ITB is a continuation of the cooperation that has been carried out previously related to the training of Mini MBA in Property. The success of the Mini MBA in Property training program with SBM-ITB has scored around 1,000 graduates from 15 batches.

"We hope that through the signing of this cooperation agreement, collaboration with the implementation of training and education programs in the property sector in the implementation of the Mini MBA in Property can continue and be able to print new developers to complement the mortgage ecosystem built by Bank BTN," said Nofry.

He said the development of entrepreneurship in the property sector had encouraged the company's housing business growth. For this reason, BTN will continue to educate millennials to be interested in becoming property entrepreneurs.

Nofry revealed that from various property entrepreneurship training organized by HFC such as BTN Santri Developer, School of Property Developer, Property Developer Room and Mini MBA in Property have produced around 2,353 property entrepreneurs.

This number is expected to continue to grow along with various trainings carried out by HFC beker together with various universities both from within the country and abroad.

"In addition to SBM-ITB, we are also working with Gadjah Mada University, University of Indonesia and with several universities in the country. The company is also exploring similar programs to cooperate with universities abroad and is currently still in the process of such universities in Asia and Australia," said Nofry.

In its flagship training and education program in the property sector, HFC will prioritize four comprehensive learning pillars that include aspects of land (land), legal (permission), capital (financing), and skillsets (sales).

"We will strengthen training materials related to business innovation and digitization of housing development," said Nofry.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs of ITB who is also the Acting Dean of SBM Jaka Sembiring said that the ITB SBM cooperation initiative with BTN in organizing training and property education is expected to provide the maximum possible benefits for partners in BTN.

"Mini MBA is a strategic step because we can quickly adapt to the challenges of such rapid change, while in the long term in the property sector it will provide very strong academic basis, which of course is accompanied by forms of research and community empowerment," said Jaka.
