Waskita Karya Gets A Road Construction Project In Timor Leste Worth Rp322 Billion

JAKARTA - Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk won the trust to build Timor Leste's infrastructure by winning the tender for the Noefefan-Oenuno Road project in Oé-Cusse, Timor Leste, worth 22.1 million US dollars.

This amount is equivalent to IDR 322 billion.

This project is not the first time that Waskita Karya has received.

Previously, Waskita has also completed several large infrastructure projects such as Suai Airport and Jalan Sakato-Noefefan in Timor Leste with good quality, projects that will be completed in 2020.

Waskita Karya I & QSHE Director of Operation I Ketut Pasek Senjaya explained that this project, Waskita's work includes improvement/rehabilitation and maintenance.

This project is expected to support the connectivity of road infrastructure, which will also connect with the Indonesian border, thereby providing benefits to the people of Oé-Cusse Timor Leste.

"This trust certainly makes Waskita as one of the largest state-owned construction companies very proud because it can continue to contribute to the country of East Leste by building good infrastructure in Timor Leste, especially in Oé-Cusse," he said in an official statement, Sunday, August 21.

Pasek said Waskita Karya sent the best team as a form of responsibility and gratitude to the Special Economic Social No Merkadu Zone (ZEESM Timor 4 Leste) for having trusted Waskita Karya as the implementing contractor.

"This project, continued Pasek, is targeted to be faster than the planned completion in the 18-month contract, and to be able to complete this project on time even faster than the contract we sent the best team," he said.

In the future, continued Pasek, there are still several infrastructure projects that are being initiated.

The issuer with the WSKT stock code hopes to be able to contribute further to the development of infrastructure and other community facilities for the more advanced State of Timor Leste and keep the diplomatic relations between Timor Leste and Indonesia increasingly well established through the presence of Waskita Karya.

"Waskita is ready to work on the next packages, both road works, buildings, airport development and others. Our heavy construction equipment in Timor Leste is practically complete to work on various projects," he explained.

For your information, the $22.1 million Noefefan - Oenuno Road project in Oé-Cusse, Timor Leste was marked by the signing of a work contract and also the ground breaking on Friday 19 August 2022.

The Company's SVP Corporate Secretary, Novianto Ari Nugroho added, until July 2022 the company had obtained a contract of Rp. 9.90 trillion, an increase of 130.98 percent compared to last year's Rp. 4.29 trillion.

The acquisition of new contract values comes from Government projects by 75.21 percent, private projects by 10.95 percent, business development of the Company's subsidiaries by 9.80 percent, and BUMN and BUMD projects by 4.05 percent.

"Based on the project type segmentation, the NKB consists of the infrastructure connectivity segment by 66.21 percent, Water Resources (SDA) by 9.37 percent, subsidiaries by 9.80 percent, building projects by 9.63 percent, EPC by 4.96 percent," said Novianto.

Currently, Novianto continued, the company remains focused on improving operational performance and completing projects that were delayed during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as increasing new contracts for both the domestic market by participating in tenders for the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) project.

"As well as the international market by participating in the G2G relationship between the Government of Indonesia and other countries," said Novianto.
