JAKARTA - PT Railink Aggoro Triwibowo increased the passenger capacity of YIA Airport train to 120 percent to provide better service to customers who want to travel to and from Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA).

"The policy of increasing passenger capacity to 120 percent is effective starting today," said PT Railink President Director Aggoro Triwibowo in an official statement, Saturday, August 6.

Previously, YIA Airport Train only operated 100 percent of the seating capacity or as many as 240 passengers without any standing passengers. With the new policy, it is allowed to have passengers standing with a capacity of 20 percent for one trip.

According to Anggoro, YIA Airport Train is one of the modes of transportation to and from the airport that is in great demand by the public, both business people and tourists who travel to Yogyakarta.

"We hope that with the increase in capacity to 120 percent, we will be able to serve more passengers and people will be more enthusiastic about using public transportation," he said.

With the increased capacity, PT Railink, as the operator, urges YIA Airport Train users to continue implementing health protocols such as wearing masks, maintaining distance and obeying the markings that have been provided and scanning PeduliLindung.

YIA Airport Train still operates 20 round trips every day and passengers can access these services from Yogyakarta Tugu Station, Wates Station, and YIA Airport Train Station with the earliest departure schedule from Tugu Station at 05.00 WIB and the latest 18.00 WIB.
