Raising Non-Subsidized Fuel Prices, Pertamina: Still The Most Competitive

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) has again raised the prices of three types of non-subsidized fuel oil (BBM), namely Pertamax Turbo, Dexlite, and Pertamina Dex.

Previously, Pertamina also did the same thing on July 10 last.

The Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Irto Ginting, explained that although there was an increase, the price of fuel was still quite competitive when compared to other competitors.

For Pertamax Turbo (RON 98), there are price adjustments to IDR 17,900, Pertamina Dex (CN 53) to IDR 18,900, and Dexlite (CN 51) to IDR 17,800 per liter for the DKI Jakarta area or areas with a fuel tax rate. motorized vehicles (PBBKB) 5 percent. This price is valid from August 3, 2022.

"95 percent of the national fuel portion, namely Pertamax, Pertalite, and Solar, has not changed in price, only certain fuel segments, namely Pertamax Turbo and Dex Series, which have changed, are still the most in their class", he said when contacted by VOI, Wednesday, August 3.

Irto added that this periodic price adjustment was again carried out, where the price of non-subsidized fuel prices fluctuated following the latest developments from the oil and gas industry, especially world oil prices or ICP.

It was noted that the average ICP price per July was 106.73 US dollars per barrel, still around 24 percent higher than the ICP price in January 2022.

"The ICP price is indeed very volatile, but the price is still quite high", continued Irto.

Based on VOI monitoring at competitor gas stations, the following is the price comparison between Pertamina, Shell, and BP fuels:

For RON 92 fuel equivalent to Pertamax, Shell Super (RON 92) fuel prices are priced at IDR 17,300-17,400 per liter, while Vivo charges IDR 17,500 and BP imposes a price of IDR 17,300 per liter compared to Pertamax which is only IDR 12,500.

Meanwhile, for Pertamax Turbo with RON 98, Pertamina charges IDR 17,800 while Shell V-Power Nitro+ is priced at IDR 18,520.
