JAKARTA - An affiliate of Pertamina Gas Sub Holding, PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the potential and analysis of the utilization of natural gas facilities and products with PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk.

The signing of the MoU was carried out by Gamal Imam Santoso, President Director of PT Pertamina Gas, Edi Rivai as Director of Legal External Affairs & Circular Economy of PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical and Rully Aryawan as Supply Chain of PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical.

The cooperation includes the development of utilization of natural gas products and their derivatives owned by Pertagas for the fulfillment of the Chandra Asri factory in Cilegon Banten, as well as analysis of the utilization of Chandra Asri facilities for the development of gas terminal infrastructure for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) or the Pertagas gas pipeline distribution network.

"Pertagas and Chandra Asri will work together to develop gas processing products into raw materials for gas pipelines," said Director of Legal External Affairs & Circular Economy of PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Edi Rivai in an official statement, Monday, August 1.

Chandra Asri has the advantage of producing raw material for PE 100 pipe which has high durability and a thinner thickness than using PE 80 material which is commonly used in household gas networks (jargas).

Through this collaboration, these products will later be used in the development of gas networks in the Pertagas Group, one of which is the Jogja - Solo - Semarang gas network. Through this collaboration, of course, it will increase the percentage of the domestic component level (TKDN) in the city gas network project in the Pertagas Group.

Edi also thanked Pertagas for opening a partnership space with Chandra Asri.
