Supporting Electricity Infrastructure At IKN Nusantara, PLN Builds 4 SUTT

JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) has built a number of infrastructures to support the provision of quality electricity supply in the National Capital City (IKN) of the archipelago.

The electricity infrastructure to be built is, four high voltage overhead lines (SUTT) 150 kiloVolt (kV), namely Maloy–Kobexindo, Bukuan–Kalimantan Ferro Industry (KFI), Batulicin–ITP, and Selaru–Sebuku to accommodate the needs of High Voltage Consumers (KTT). ).

Director of Mega Projects and New Renewable Energy at PLN, Wiluyo Kusdwiharto said, currently with the IKN development activities, the development and growth of the economic climate in East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan and South Kalimantan, will also continue to increase.

This condition requires a reliable electrical network support to supply electricity to consumers.

This step is part of PLN's commitment to transform from supply driven to demand driven.

“Currently more and more investors are entering to develop their business in East Kalimantan or Kaltara to South Kalimantan. We must support this, through the provision of reliable electricity infrastructure. They take care of the business, PLN takes care of the electricity," said Wiluyo in his official statement, Wednesday, July 27.

This development, he said, is in line with several PLN targets nationally by 2022, including the addition of 229 Megawatt (MW) EBT power plants, the addition of transmission lines along 4,537 circuit kilometers (kms).

Then, the addition of a substation capacity of 4,930 Mega Volt Ampere (MVA), and the addition of 40 SPKLU electric vehicle infrastructure and a dedieselization program with 200 locations spread out.

"Of course, in realizing and completing these targets, the challenges will always be there. We must here strengthen each other and work together to be able to solve them by strengthening determination, thinking creatively, and working sincerely," added Wiluyo.

Meanwhile, General Manager of PLN's East Kalimantan Development Parent Unit (UIP KLT), Josua Simanungkalit said that the electricity infrastructure development was being carried out by PLN UIP KLT.

In addition to the construction of electricity infrastructure for the Summit, the construction of electricity infrastructure to strengthen the system, namely the Kaltim-Kaltara interconnection system and also the looping of the South Kalimantan network, continues to be completed to support customers' electricity needs.
