JAKARTA - PT Barata Indonesia (Persero) through the Components and Machinery Industry Division (DIKP) carried out the first export of Transom Assy products to the United States, which are components that function as dumping to reduce vibrations on the train, making it more stable.

Marketing Director of Barata Indonesia, Sulistyo Handoko, in a press release in Surabaya, Tuesday, July 12, said the export of the new product is one of the company's commitments to expand the manufacturing market for the component and machinery industry in order to diversify products, particularly the railway industry.

"This achievement is also a strength for us to continue to be a key player in the global supply chain, especially in the railway industry," said Sulistyo, quoted by Antara.

He hopes that Transom Assy's first export will produce a sustainable export market, so that it can boost the company's performance.

In addition, the company's performance could soon rise in line with the government's optimism for post-pandemic national economic growth.

"This condition is expected to encourage development projects in various industries to revive, so that it has an impact on the company's revenue opportunities," he said.

Meanwhile, in maintaining product quality, the company has also renewed the Association of American Railroads (AAR) certificate, which is one of the main prerequisites for exporting rail component products to the American market.

Previously, PT Barata Indonesia has also routinely exported Bogie train components since 2011 and based on the performance record for Semester I/2022, Barata Indonesia has exported 44 times to various countries with a total export value of US$2.1 million. Among them to Canada, Germany, China, Mexico, and South Korea.

"This trust will be our commitment to continue to grow, improve market positioning in the manufacturing industry both nationally and globally by producing competitive products, competitive prices and timely delivery with high domestic content (TKDN) values," he said.
