JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) continues to maintain that the supply of crude oil, fuel and LPG is at a safe level.

President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati explained, the very high increase in oil prices caused several countries to experience an energy crisis.

Pertamina made accurate planning by balancing between aspects of national energy security and corporate conditions.

In addition, Pertamina not only maintains national supply, but also per region to gas stations because the stock needed for each region is different for the type of product.

"We do not generalize the number for all regions, but it is adjusted, because there are areas where the diesel is high, some with high Pertalite, some with Pertamax. We are trying to see this one by one with gas station digitization," said Nicke to reporters, Friday, July 8.

With the increase in oil and gas prices, said Nicke, the tough challenge in the downstream sector is the price of product economics to increase sharply.

When compared to the economic price, the selling price of fuel and LPG set by the Government is very low.

As of July 2022, for Solar CN-48 or Biosolar (B30), it was sold at a price of IDR 5,150 per liter, even though the economic price reached IDR 18,150.

So for each liter of Solar, the Government pays a subsidy of Rp. 13,000.

For Pertalite, continued Nicke, the selling price is still IDR 7,650 per liter, while the current market price is IDR 17,200.

So for every liter of Pertalite paid by the community, the Government subsidized Rp9,550 per liter.

Likewise for LPG PSO, where since 2007 there has been no increase. The price is still IDR 4,250 per kilogram, where the market price is IDR 15,698 per kg.

"So the subsidy from the government is 11,448 per kilo. For Pertamax, Pertamina is still setting a price of Rp12,500. Whereas for RON 92, competitors have set a price of around 17,000. Because economically the market price has reached Rp17,950," he said.

"We are still holding it at a price of Rp. 12,500, because we also understand that if we raise Pertamax as high as this, then shifting to Pertalite will occur, and of course it will increase the burden on the country," concluded Nicke.
