JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources through the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) cooperates with the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) to strengthen the role of local governments in supervising the distribution of subsidized fuel oil (BBM).

Head of BPH Migas, Erika Retnowati explained, support from the Ministry of Home Affairs is expected to assign local governments regarding the verification of user consumers in the IT system of the Assignment Business Entity, so that the number of vehicles consuming subsidized fuel can be controlled.

"BPH Migas is strengthening supervision of the distribution of subsidized diesel and Pertalite to be right on target in the regions. We are currently evaluating Presidential Regulation 191/2014 which in its implementation requires assistance and cooperation from the Ministry of Home Affairs as supervisors for local governments," Erika Retnowati told reporters, Friday, July 8.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs John Wempi Wetipo assessed that there is a need for collaboration between institutions so that the distribution of subsidized fuel is more targeted.

According to him, based on Presidential Decree 191 of 2014, it has mandated to supervise certain types of fuel (JBT) and special types of fuel assignments (JBKP), cooperation between BPH Migas and local governments is needed.

"The Ministry of Home Affairs welcomes this hearing and supports Migas BPH support, one of our proposals is to verify user consumer registration in the IT system. Assignment Business Entities can start from several provinces," he said.

As a follow-up to the meeting, a cooperation agreement (PKS) will be carried out between BPH Migas and the Ministry of Home Affairs which supports the implementation of the 2014 Presidential Regulation 191.
