JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission VII DPR, Bambang Haryadi, revealed that the distribution of subsidized diesel fuel is still very vulnerable to being misused for industrial needs.

For this reason, Commission VII of the DPR RI urges the government to monitor it closely in the field.

This is because there are many people who want to misappropriate subsidized diesel because there is a stark price disparity between subsidized diesel and industry.

According to him, there is always the potential for diversion of subsidized diesel fuel to the industrial sector which is not entitled to receive it so that it will be very detrimental and burden the state budget.

He emphasized that it should not be difficult for people to access subsidized diesel fuel because it is widely misused.

"The government must think about the people, especially the people's declining purchasing power. For that, subsidies must be given to the people. However, we do not want the subsidies to be misused to take advantage, because there is a price disparity between subsidized diesel and industrial diesel," said Bambang in a written statement. , Friday 24 June.

Bambang continued, one of the government's efforts in supervising subsidized fuel is by digitizing gas stations.

With digital devices installed in all gas stations, officers can monitor all incoming vehicles to refuel.

There is an analytical video that records the expenditure of fuel at the gas station as well as sees the license plate of the incoming vehicle.

"Purchase transactions are recorded, complete with police numbers and monitored through video analytical devices. This is an important thing in controlling subsidized fuel consumption," said Bambang again.

He considered that the gas station digitization program could also monitor the availability of subsidized fuel circulating in the community.
