SOE Minister: Creating A 'Contemporary' Flying Concept, Pelita Air Targets Millennial Passengers

JAKARTA - SOE Minister Erick Thohir also enlivened Pelita Air's flight from Jakarta (CGK) to Yogyakarta (YIA) on flight IP 240, on Wednesday, June 22.

Erick Thohir said Pelita Air was prepared to target millennial passengers who make up the majority of Indonesia's population.

Erick said that the concepts and targets built by Pelita Air were deliberately different from existing airlines. He advised Pelita Air and other airlines to support each other for the needs of all Indonesian people.

Quoting Erick Thohir's statement at the ceremonial first flight of Pelita Air for the Jakarta Bali route on April 28, Pelita Air's presence is a form of government intervention in realizing economic balance in the country's aircraft industry, especially with the current soaring price of airline tickets.

He conveyed the government's high hopes for Pelita Air to become a new paradigm for the Indonesian aviation industry.

Erick requested and required Pelita Air to become one of the backbones of the development of the domestic aviation industry.

"Pelita Air must be a part of healthy aircraft industry in Indonesia," he said.

On the same occasion, President Director of PT Pelita Air Service Dendy Kurniawan said it was an honor and pride for Pelita Air for the participation of the Minister of SOEs to enliven the opening of the second route for Pelita Air's scheduled flights with the Jakarta-Yogyakarta-Jakarta route.

According to him, the presence of the Minister of SOEs in the ceremonial atmosphere shows that the government, especially the Ministry of SOEs fully supports the presence of Pelita Air in the regular flight industry.
