While Diving Drinking Water, Minister Of Trade Zulhas Buys Merchandise From Sellers During An Inspection At The Klender Market

JAKARTA - The Minister of Trade, Zulkifli Hasan, has a different style when conducting a surprise inspection of the supply and price of bulk cooking oil at the Klender Market, East Jakarta. While diving and drinking water, the Minister of Trade also bought up the wares of the sellers.

The Minister of Trade, who is familiarly called Zulhas, bought chicken, tempeh, chili, market snacks, and beef while checking the latest food prices at the Klender Market, East Jakarta.

Zulhas bought up five chickens which were sold for Rp. 38 thousand per head. In addition, Zulhas also bought 1 kg of curly red chilies for Rp. 90 thousand, 1 kg of red chilies for Rp. 120 thousand, and 1 kg of tomatoes for Rp. 20 thousand.

The Trade Minister also bought market snacks for media crews who covered tempeh and 2 kg of beef for Rp. 150,000 per kg. The Trade Minister Zulhas even exceeded the spending money from the price that should have been paid.

"How much are all the cakes? Rp. 60,000? I'll just offer you Rp. 200 thousand," said Zulhas, paying for a cake from the market for Rp. 60,000 with Rp. 200,000 in cash, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, June 22.

Zulhas said that currently the price of red curly chili began to fall from the previous Rp120 per kg to Rp90 thousand per kg. This is due to the intervention carried out by the government by distributing chilies from outside Java to Jakarta.

The Trade Minister also spoke with meat traders who complained that their sales turnover had decreased due to the increase in various food commodities.

"Sales are declining, because prices are rising, people don't buy meat first," said Ruyat, a butcher at Klender Market.
