Whoops! The Price Of Subsidized Cooking Oil Of Rp. 14,000 Is Difficult To Implement In Natuna, This Is The Reason

JAKARTA - The government's policy to set the price of subsidized bulk cooking oil at a price of Rp. 14,000 per liter is considered not applicable in Natuna due to distribution costs at the merchant level.

"The subsidized bulk cooking oil cannot be sold at a predetermined price, because at the merchant level there is a distribution fee, in Ranai (the administrative center of Natuna Regency) it is only Rp. 15,000 per liter," said the Head of the Regency Industry, Trade, Cooperatives and Micro Business Office. Natuna, Marwan Syahputra quoted from Antara, Tuesday, June 21.

In addition, continued Marwan, Natuna does not allow one price oil to be applied because it consists of islands.

However, the local government has set the highest price at IDR 17,000 per liter.

"That too, for certain areas, such as Pulau Laut, allows a price of Rp. 17,000. At the merchant level, they can get a price of Rp. 14,000 but consumers cannot," he said.

Previously, Marwan said to suppress prices, his party had sent bulk cooking oil to the outer islands via a government-owned passenger ship.

"Yesterday we also helped with distribution via Roro ships, such as Pulau Laut, Serasan, Subi, only Sedanau can cost Rp. 15,000 because ships from Tanjungpinang can stop there immediately before going to Ranai," he said.

Marwan said, currently the bulk cooking oil stock in Natuna has run out, and will wait for shipments to arrive next month.

"As many as 60 tons, our quota is actually available for 100 tons, earlier yesterday we only took 20 tons, it wasn't enough, so we proposed 60 tons next month," said Marwan.

In addition, he said, the local government welcomes traders who want to be distributors of subsidized bulk cooking oil in Natuna because the quota is still available.

"Yesterday there was only one, next month there will be two distributors who have registered, we are open to those who want to take the quota, because there are still many," concluded Marwan.
