Sri Mulyani Guyon Suharso Monoarfa's Hilarious Moment At The DPR Meeting On Political Coalition, Getting Closer To KIB?

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, was recorded throwing jokes at Suharso Monoarfa when the two were present at a working meeting with Commission XI of the House of Representatives (DPR) some time ago.

At that time, Suharso came in his capacity as Minister of National Development Planning (PPN/Bappenas) who was a representative of the government, just like Sri Mulyani.

In a work presentation session, the chairman of the Commission XI meeting briefly questioned the absence of the Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI), who was supposed to come with the government.

Sri Mulyani then took the initiative to answer by saying that the BI boss might have other agendas after they had attended the same international event last week.

"With your permission, Mr. (chairman of the meeting), yesterday I had an Islamic event together (Development Bank in Egypt). Yesterday he (the Governor of BI) when he was about to say goodbye, he said there was another event", said Sri Mulyani.

Hearing this answer, Suharso, who was sitting next to the state treasurer, immediately grabbed Sri Mulyani's statement.

"Yesterday the three of us (with the Governor of BI to the Islamic Development Bank event in Egypt)", he said.

Sri Mulyani then replied to Suharso's words which immediately invited laughter from all the meeting participants present.

"Yes, the three of them yesterday (to Egypt) but on different days. But he (Suharso) went home first because there was a KIB (United Indonesia Coalition). Well if I don't. I concentrate as Minister of Finance", joked Sri Mulyani.

As is known, Suharso Monoarfa is a bureaucrat who is also listed as the General Chair of the Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP) Fraction.

The political party is currently joining the United Indonesia Coalition which was formed together with the Golkar Party (Golkar) and Partai Amanat Nasional (PAN). Meanwhile, KIB itself is a political alliance that was built to face the upcoming 2024 elections.

Recently, Sri Mulyani's name was increasingly associated with national political activities after the General Chair of Partai Kebangkitan Bangsa (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin openly expressed his desire to 'propose' the state treasurer as a vice presidential candidate to accompany him.

"God willing, we will advance in 2024. We will get a good and right partner, and one of the things I look up to is Mrs. Sri Mulyani, the Minister of Finance", said Cak Imin as previously reported by the editorial.
