JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) through UIW Kaltimra signed a Renewable Energy Certificate (PJBREC) Sales and Purchase Agreement of 1,800 units with PT Multi Harapan Utama (MHU) in Samarinda.

Manager of PLN UP3 Samarinda Ari Tirtaprawita appreciates companies that are willing to encourage the use of EBT through REC products.

He hopes that more companies will contribute in supporting the achievement of the target of the EBT mix in Indonesia

"Hopefully more customers will use REC and become contributors to the use of green energy, so that in the future the use of EBT in Indonesia will be more enthusiastic," said Ari in a statement to the media, Wednesday, May 25.

REC, he said, is one of PLN's commitments in realizing the Carbon Neutral target. REC is a green product innovation that can be utilized by customers to meet the target of using renewable energy in a transparent and internationally recognized manner.

The 1 REC unit represents 1 MWh of new renewable energy.

This program can be used by industry players to contribute to the use of environmentally friendly electricity.

PT Multi Harapan Utama (MHU) Chief of Operation (COO), Faiz Firdaus, was grateful because PLN's REC products made it easier to use green energy.

This agreement, he said, was the first REC Sale-Purchase agreement to be implemented in East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan

“Through PJBREC we can take part in the use of environmentally friendly electrical energy in our business activities. Thanks to the active support of PLN, we are now able to contribute to the success of the government's program to reduce carbon emissions in Indonesia," said Faiz.
