Company Owned By Conglomerate Anthony Salim And WIR Asia Create A Joint Venture Company To Develop Metaverse Platform

JAKARTA - A company owned by conglomerate Anthony Salim cooperates with PT WIR Asia Tbk (WIRG) to form a joint venture (JV) that will later develop the metaverse platform.

Executive Director of the Salim Group, Axton Salim said that business challenges in the digital era require not only superior human resources (HR) but also high technology support to be able to compete in the domestic and global arena. The memorandum of understanding for cooperation was signed by Axton Salim and the President Director of WIR Asia, Michael Budi Wirjatmo.

"We believe that cooperation through a joint venture with the WIR Group will provide an extraordinary opportunity for future corporate business development. By adopting the metaverse platform, we can explore potential and business opportunities that were previously unimaginable," said the son of Anthony Salim, in a written statement, quoted Saturday, May 21.

Meanwhile, Michael Budi Wirjatmo emphasized that his party will present a leading technology solution, based on the company's expertise and experience in developing metaverse technology that has been recognized in many countries.

"We have the ability to build and develop Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies that can support Salim Group's business entering a new era of borderless digital through the metaverse technology we developed.

Michael added that the infinite metaverse world will not only make businesses more efficient and effective but also present new opportunities. However, special ways are needed to navigate users in interacting and taking advantage of the opportunities available in the metaverse world.

"With the expertise and experience of WIR Group, which has pioneered the development of metaverse technology since 2009 and completed thousands of projects in a number of countries, we are optimistic that we can help industries including the Salim Group to enter and explore the world of the metaverse," said Michael.

The joint venture was formed to encourage the advancement of the metaverse platform in Indonesia, while ensuring its business network remains leading and competitive. As one of the metaverse software technology companies from Indonesia, the issuer with the stock code WIRG plans to introduce the Indonesian metaverse prototype in November 2022.
