JAKARTA - The Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) held a research competition titled LPS Call for Research (LPS CFR) with a total prize of Rp205 million which was opened to the general public.
LPS CFR itself is an annual scientific writing event that has been held since 2017 with the number of participants continuing to increase from year to year.
"The CFR LPS at the same time introduces the functions and duties of the LPS to the wider community," said the Chairman of the LPS Board of Commissioners, Purbaya Sadewa, quoted from Antara, Thursday, May 19.
Purbaya explained that LPS CFR is a forum for the public or researchers to express ideas and scientific writing skills as well as to disseminate the functions and duties of LPS to the public.
Different from before, this year's CFR LPS can not only be attended specifically by academics or the research profession, but also by the general public.
LPS CFR 2022 carries the theme Encouraging Resilient Economic Recovery Amid Challenges and Uncertainty with two research sub-themes, namely general sub-themes and special sub-themes.
General sub-themes are intended for at least Diploma or S1 students to postgraduate graduates from all scientific fields with a choice of available topics.
These topics include the Deposit Guarantee Program, Bank Resolution, Banking Restructuring Program and Financial System Stability. Then the Behavior of Depositors and/or Banks, Financial Intermediation, Islamic Banking and Consolidation or Mergers and Acquisitions of Banks.
While the special sub-themes are intended for at least Diploma or S1 students to S3 graduates from all scientific fields with a choice of available topics.
These topics include the Strategy to Increase Public Literacy on the Deposit Insurance Program by the IDIC, the Challenges and Opportunities of Digital Banking and the Implications for the Deposit Insurance and/or Bank Resolution Program by the IDIC.
Then, the Exit Policy Strategy in Mitigating the Scarring Effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the National Economy as well as the Development of the National Financial Services Sector with Environmental Insight.
Furthermore, Social and Governance (ESG) for Sustainable Development and the Landscape of the Financial Services Sector Post COVID-19 Pandemic.
In detail, the prizes for this year's LPS CFR activity reached Rp. 205 million, namely for special sub-themes of Rp. 105 million and general sub-themes of Rp. 75 million.
Prizes for a special sub-theme of IDR 105 million include IDR 45 million for first place, IDR 35 million for second place and IDR 25 million for third place. Prizes for the general sub-theme of IDR 75 million include IDR 35 million for the first place winner, IDR 25 million for the second winner and IDR 15 million for the third winner.
The 10 favorite research papers will also receive a prize of IDR 2.5 million each.
Registration for LPS CFR participants is open from April 1, 2022 to August 5, 2022 via www.cfr.lps.go.id.
