PLN Installs 2 SPLU Units At Gili Mas Port, Lombok, Affordable Rates

JAKARTA - State Electricity Company (PLN) installed a Public Electric Charging Station (SPLU) with free connection fees at Gili Mas Harbor, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Saturday 28 April.

The installation of this SPLU is a synergy between PLN and Pelindo III.

A total of two SPLU units with 16 kWHmeters with a total connected power of 48,400 VA have been installed to electrify traders in the port area.

Manager of UP3 Mataram, Maman Sulaeman, explained that the installation of SPLU is a PLN program in providing electricity for public facilities in strategic places.

This is done at the same time to support economic improvement programs, especially traders around Gili Mas.

“The merchant economy will improve because electricity costs are cheaper. This is because SPLU offers affordable rates, which are the same as the tariffs for ordinary customers," Maman explained in a statement to the media, Thursday, May 12.

In addition to supplying electricity in public locations, the installation of SPLU is also intended so that all business or commercial actors who may have been using electricity illegally can switch to PLN electricity.

One of them is the electricity safety factor because the use of electricity illegally is certainly not safe in terms of the safety of the electrical installation.

Meanwhile, General Manager of Pelindo III Baharudin, appreciated the efforts that had been made by PLN to help traders gain access to electricity legally in the port area.

"I thank PLN. Of course, the installation of this SPLU will help improve the economy of traders because the electricity supply that is used every day is obtained by PLN," said Baharudin.

Previously, the installation of the SPLU was also one of PLN's major programs to prepare for the era of electric vehicles in NTB, which was launched by the Governor of NTB, Zulkeflimansyah, last February 2021.

PLN hopes that in NTB there will be more places where SPLU can be installed.

"The economy is improving, security is more guaranteed and also to prepare for the era of electric vehicles in the future, especially in NTB," concluded Maman.
