Guaranteeing Safe Fuel Stock Before And After Lebaran Homecoming, Head Of BPH Migas: We've Been Monitoring

JAKARTA - Head of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) Erika Retnowati ensured that the stock of fuel oil (BBM) for the Eid al-Fitr 1443 H period was in a safe condition.

He detailed, for fuel type RON 90 or Pertalite there were still 17 days of stock, Pertamax 32 days, Turbo fuel type 59 days, Diesel fuel 19 days, Pertadex 74 days and avtur reached 42 days. Meanwhile, kerosene reached 37 days of stock.

"We from BPH Migas and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources have carried out monitoring and we see that this fuel stock is sufficient. It is safe. We have looked at depots and gas stations, it is enough for 21 days," said Retno in Energy Corner, Monday, April 25.

Meanwhile, for the volume of fuel, Retno estimates that consumption spikes will mainly occur on the homecoming routes for the islands of Java and Sumatra, including in tourist areas. For this reason, his party has formed a Command Post for the distribution of BBM which will start working today from April 25 to May 11.

"We will monitor it every day from readiness to distribution of fuel," added Retno.

Retno also estimates that there will be a spike in fuel consumption of around 29 percent on the 2nd day of homecoming and when the return flow is estimated to reach 36 percent.

"The holiday itself will also be high because when people return home, people will go out with their families. We estimate it will be quite high there," said Retno.

Despite the spike, Erika admitted that she would not increase the fuel quota because it was considered sufficient for the next 21 days. For that, he will also make arrangements so that the existing stock can meet the daily needs of people's fuel consumption.

Not only that, he also ensures that there are no restrictions on the purchase of Pertalite fuel, it will not be limited during this year's Eid al-Fitr. Even so, BPH oil and gas is currently preparing further regulations so that the Pertalite quota is not broken, especially after being designated as a Special Assignment Fuel Type (JBKP).

"There will be no restrictions on purchases, so people are welcome to buy according to their individual needs," he concluded.
