Meeting The Needs Of Ramadan And Eid, PT Berdikari Is Ready To Mobilize Cattle To Greater Jakarta And Greater Bandung

JAKARTA - PT Berdikari, a member of the ID Food BUMN Food holding company, stated that it is ready to mobilize live cattle to meet the needs of the community during Ramadan and Eid or Lebaran 2022 in the Greater Jakarta and Greater Bandung areas.

As is known, the government has just brought in 2,000 live cattle from Queensland, Australia for intensive fattening or fattening in Indonesia.

"We will mobilize live cattle to meet supplies around Greater Jakarta and Greater Bandung, this is also in line with the direction of the National Food Agency," said Harry Warganegara, President Director of Berdikari, in an official statement, Tuesday, April 12.

In addition to mobilizing cattle to consumer centers to meet community needs, Harry said that intensive fattening or fattening activities will also be carried out in Berdikari's partner cowsheds.

"Currently there are 1,500 cattle at the Berdikari cattle farm and this will continue to grow," he said.

Harry continued Berdikari will continue to increase the cattle population through partnership programs and collaboration with the cattle insemination program with the Ministry of Agriculture.

"We are trying to continue to increase the number of cattle breeders in collaboration with stakeholders, livestock actors, the Ministry of Villages, BUMDes, Livestock Villages," he explained.

According to Harry, in Indonesia the realization of the mobilization of local cattle from East Nusa Tenggara, West Nusa Tenggara, Central Java and East Java will be added with live cattle from Australia to stock cattle commodities.

Director of Food Holding ID Food, Frans Tambunan, said the program from BUMN was to help the government overcome the availability of live cattle ahead of fasting and Eid.

"Regarding meat self-sufficiency, of course we are not only talking about beef, but also poultry and beef, ruminants," he explained.

Therefore, Frans hopes that in the future ID Food together with the National Food Agency, the Ministry of Agriculture will also begin to study and focus on fattening the source of their cows.

"It could be from outside, it could be local, but what we prioritize is to mobilize the cows from local farmers," he said.
