JAKARTA - Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) confirmed that the Galimo Det-1 Non Conventional Oil and Gas (MNK) well has been declared a disclosure.

This affirmation was after PHR evaluated the results of the fracturing and fracture data (flowback test) as well as the results of the drilling and well-testing of the Gulamo DET-1 Well.

PHR's UPstream Business EVP, Andre Wijanarko explained, the process of playing fracturing or major attachment to the Brownshale Formation layer has been completed and preliminary results from the flow test obtained hydrocarbon samples.

"This achievement is a new milestone for PHR and the national oil and gas industry," he said, Tuesday, November 19.

Post drills or a series of activities carried out after the drilling process is complete, aims to analyze drilling and well-testing operations and evaluate the hydrocarbon potential of a well. By being declared as a disclosure, Gulamo DET-1 Well became the first MNK well in Indonesia to successfully prove the hydrocarbon flow to the surface of MNK.

"By successfully finding new oil and gas resources at the Gulamo DET-1 Well, we are increasingly confident in the great potential for MNK development in the Rokan Block. This is clear evidence of our commitment to continue to contribute in meeting national energy needs," he said.

Andre added that this success will be a momentum for PHR to continue to explore and develop MNK in the Rokan Working Area.

The next stage, said Andre, is to evaluate the potential resources found, as well as further exploration steps and more detailed field development, including appraisal well drilling to prove the concept of MNK wells (long horizontal well and multi-stage hydraulic fracturing) working well in confirming wider resource potential.

In line with Andre, the Head of the SKK Migas Exploration Division, Sunjaya Eka Saputra, welcomed this achievement.

The discovery of new oil and gas resources at Gulamo DET-1 Well is good news for the Indonesian oil and gas industry. This proves that our efforts in developing non-conventional oil and gas resources have yielded results. This success is expected to be an example for other MNK's exploration and field development activities in Indonesia," explained Sunjaya.

For information, Non-Conventional Oil and Natural Gas (MNK) is oil and natural gas that are formed and confined to smooth and permeable reservoir rocks in the maturity zone which will be economical if produced through horizontal bombing using hydrant fracturing stimulation techniques, including shale oil, gas shale, tight sand oil, tight sand gas, methane Batubara and methane-hydrate.
