Jokowi Reminded About Many Unexpected Situations, Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association Must Be Adaptive And Innovative

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) requested that the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) be able to adapt in unexpected situations. This is because the current world conditions are unpredictable and have an impact on Indonesia.

This was conveyed by Jokowi in a meeting with Hipmi administrators for the 2019-2022 period at the Jakarta Presidential Palace, Monday, April 11.

Chairman of the Central Governing Body of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (BPP Hipmi) Mardani H Maming explained the unexpected situations that Jokowi was referring to, ranging from the COVID-19 pandemic to the Russo-Ukrainian war.

In fact, said Maming, Jokowi also said that the unexpected situation had an impact on the implementation of government programs. The program which was originally able to be implemented according to plan, but this time experiencing obstacles.

"So he (President Jokowi) advised young entrepreneurs, Hipmi, to always adapt to unexpected situations," said Maming.

During the meeting, said Maming, Jokowi also emphasized the importance of creating innovation for young people. According to him, innovations must continue to run consistently.

Then, Maming said, Jokowi gave an example of industrial downstreaming carried out by the government. Through the government's ban on exporting raw materials such as nickel and others, Indonesia can create added value and can create new jobs for the community.

This opportunity is expected to be welcomed by young entrepreneurs to create new jobs for the people of Indonesia. Moreover, Indonesia will face a demographic bonus in 2030.

"And that will continue to other minerals, and also absorb jobs for the Indonesian people which should be welcomed by young Indonesian entrepreneurs, especially in Hipmi," he said.
