Performance Of Media Company Owned By Conglomerate Eddy Kusnadi Sariaatmadja Skyrockets In 2021, Revenue Of IDR 5.93 Trillion And Profit Of IDR 1.34 Trillion

JAKARTA - The media company owned by the conglomerate Eddy Kusnadi Sariaatamadja, PT Surya Citra Media Tbk (SCMA) recorded a net profit of IDR 1.34 trillion in 2021. This achievement increased by 17.33 percent compared to the same period the previous year which was valued at IDR 1.14 trillion.

In SCMA's financial report, quoted Monday, April 4, this increase in profit was in line with an increase in net income of around 16.25 percent to IDR 5.93 trillion in 2021, compared to 2020 which was IDR 5.10 trillion. This increase was contributed by the advertising segment which recorded revenues of IDR 6.43 trillion and other revenues of IDR 736 billion, but there was a sales discount of IDR 1.24 trillion.

The operating profit reached IDR 1.75 trillion, an increase of 20.07 percent from the same period in the previous year of IDR 1.45 trillion. Meanwhile, profit before income tax expense was recorded at IDR 1.72 trillion, up 15.96 percent from the 2020 achievement of IDR 1.48 trillion.

Total assets as of December 31, 2021, reached IDR 9.91 trillion, up 46.49 percent from December 31, 2020, IDR 6.76 trillion. Meanwhile, total liabilities amounted to IDR 2.45 trillion, down 14.56 percent from the previous IDR 2.87 trillion. Meanwhile, total equity rose 91.47 percent to IDR 7.46 trillion from the previous IDR 3.89 trillion.

Previously, a number of directors of Surya Citra Media bought up the company's shares worth IDR 18.39 billion. The purchase of shares was carried out by executing 55.065.000 aka 55.06 million shares at an exercise price of IDR 334 per share.

"The purpose of the transaction is the implementation of the Management and Employee Stock Option Program (MESOP) period III," said Corporate Secretary Surya Citra Media Gilang Iskandar in an official statement.

In detail, the President Director of Surya Citra Media, Sutanto Hartono, was recorded to have bought 19 million worth IDR 6.34 billion. After the transaction, Sutanto now holds 40 million SCMA shares or 0.054 percent.

Surya Citra Media Director Harsiwi Achmad bought 8.5 million shares worth IDR 2.83 billion. With the completion of the transaction, Harsiwi now controls 19.87 million shares of SCMA or 0.027 percent.

Then, Director of Surya Citra Media Rusmiyati Djajaseputra bought 5.45 million shares worth IDR 1.82 billion. Rusmiyati now owns 10 million shares or 0.014 percent.

Not to forget the Director of Surya Citra Media Imam Sudjarwo also did not want to lose. Sudjarwo was recorded to have bought 3.66 million shares or IDR 1.22 billion. Thus, Sudjarwo has additional shares to 5.2 million shares or 0.007 percent.

Then, Surya Citra Media Director David Setiawan Suwarto joined in accumulating 4.2 million shares worth IDR 1.4 billion. David now holds 5.85 million shares or 0.008 percent.

Finally, Director of Surya Citra Media Mutia Nandika also did not miss to buy 14.25 million shares worth IDR 4.75 billion. Mutia now holds 26.50 million shares or 0.036 percent.
