JAKARTA - Indonesia and Bulgaria have agreed to cooperate in the export of high fat desiccated coconut products to Bulgaria, involving PT Sasa Inti and PIC Co.

This collaboration was facilitated by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Bulgaria, Albania and North Macedonia, Iwan Bogananta, who was also present at the signing of the cooperation, at the PT. Rodamas Inti Internasional, Jakarta, Wednesday (30/3/2022).

In his remarks, Iwan said that Bulgaria is a country that has the potential to be a 'hub' for trade in Indonesian products to enter the European market, as well as other regions, such as Africa and the Middle East.

"I believe the signing of this cooperation agreement will bring fresh air to other Indonesian product opportunities and create positive competitiveness with other world products," said Iwan, in his official statement, Wednesday, March 30.

Meanwhile, PT Rodamas Inti Internasional as the parent company of PT Sasa Inti, revealed that this cooperation agreement is a continuation of the signing of the LOI with PIC Co last year and has the potential to bring in business worth 1.5 million USD.

Not only that, this agreement has also paved the way for other forms of cooperation in which Sasa was appointed to be the main raw material supplier for the first rendang factory in Bulgaria which was jointly initiated by Indonesian culinary experts Mr. William Wongso, PIC Co., and Mr. Ambassador Iwan Bogananta.

"We are optimistic that after the success of high fat desiccated coconut, we will also introduce and market other Sasa products in Bulgaria, as well as support the government's program to popularize Indonesian cuisine to the international community (Spice Up The World)," said President Director of PT Rodamas. Inti International, Hadi Santoso, on the same occasion.

On the other hand, a representative from PIC Co Group, Bella Bulgaria Dimitri, appreciated the steps taken by the Indonesian government and stakeholders in improving the business of the two countries.

"This is another stage of success after last week our group succeeded in collaborating in developing the Indonesian food product 'Rendang Goes Europe' with a very grand launch in Bali," said Dimitri.

He emphasized that these two events have provided great motivation to get to know other Indonesian products, especially in food industries.

"This high fat desiccated coconut will later be a raw material for the production of several food products at our factory in Bulgaria," said Dimitri.
