Ifki revealed, the quality of special racing lubricants with base oil produced by PT KPI that were tested had similar characteristics compared to special racing lubricants with full synthetic base oils which are currently 100% imported.
"The production of base oil equivalent to full synthetic quality by PT KPI provides an option for base oil prices that are more affordable and competitive for manufacturers of special racing lubricants as well as the potential to save foreign exchange," said Ifki.
In addition to the Characteristics Test, the Fuel and Racing Lubricants have also passed the Performance Test. In the performance test, the Chassis Dynamometer method is used which shows the use of fuel and special racing lubricants that use base oil produced by PT KPI which shows a fairly high maximum power and torque. In addition, the test also shows that the AFR (Air Fuel Ratio) is required to be in the optimum AFR range (12.5 - 13.0) so that fuel efficiency is optimal, explained Ifki.
"The results of the LEMIGAS test show that Racing Lubricants that use base oil produced by PT KPI meet the standards set out in the SNI JASO 7069.2 specification for API SN/JASO MA2 performance performance with SAE 10W-50," said Ifki.
