JAKARTA - Mothers of a noodle restaurant employee named Surahmi, came to the Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi who was monitoring the prices of basic commodities at Senen Market, Central Jakarta. While hitting the jerry can, Surahmi complained about the difficulty of getting cooking oil.

Surahmi's complaint is not without cause. As far as he knows, when the Minister of Trade visits the market, the supply of cooking oil will be abundant. In fact, it is very difficult to get oil in the market.

"It's hard to find. It turns out that the goods don't exist. They say there is a minister with oil. It turns out there isn't any. Do you want to fill it with rainwater or tap water," he said when met at Senen Market, Central Jakarta, Thursday, March 17.

Not only in traditional markets, according to Surahmi, the supply of cooking oil is also vacant in modern markets or modern retail.

"Now it's really difficult, sometimes you can get it in mini markets sometimes you don't. It's also limited. Now you don't have all brands of oil. One liter of Rp. 14,000 in bulk doesn't exist. He said there is a maximum of 10 liters for one person," he said.

Lutfi also responded to Surahmi's complaint. He explained that bulk oil supplies would be distributed to Pasar Senen. He asked Suharmi to wait patiently for supplies to arrive.

"It will come soon. I'm waiting for it to come. Now the price for buying bulk is Rp. 14,000. If the packaging is expensive, the important thing is that the government lady will be there, the price is Rp. 14,000 soon," he said.

For your information, Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi visited Pasar Senen, Central Jakarta to check various basic ingredients including cooking oil. Lutfi came around 11.30 WIB.

This is corroborated by the results of an inspection by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) which shows that cooking oil cannot be found in the modern retail market. Meanwhile, the Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi said the stock of cooking oil in the market was abundant.

Commission VI member Andre Rosiade said that the different inspection results between President Jokowi and the Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi showed that the stock was on the market if the Minister of Trade made a field inspection.
