JAKARTA - The Minister of Trade (Mendag) Muhammad Lutfi conducted a surprise inspection (sidak) to Alfamidi and Lotte, on Monday, March 14 yesterday. From the inspection, the Minister of Trade found that cooking oil was still available at the two retailers.

From the photo documentation of the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) it can even be seen that the Minister of Trade Lutfi is 'in front of' rows of cooking oil. This happened when Trade Minister Lutfi visited Lotte Wholesale Kelapa Gading.

The cooking oil shown in the modern retail outlets is the Bimoli, Sania, and Tropical brands. Apart from that, there was also SunCo cooking oil, although it seemed that the amount was not so much.

While visiting Alfamidi, who is also in the Kelapa Gading area, the Trade Minister also still found the availability of cooking oil. The cooking oil brand that the Trade Minister Lutfi saw at Alfamidi was the Rose Brand brand.

"Our observations at Alfamidi Kelapa Gading show that cooking oil is available to the public. The Ministry of Trade continues to ensure that the supply of cooking oil is always available to the public, one of which is through modern retailers," said the Trade Minister.

"At Alfamidi Boulevard Kelapa Gading, cooking oil is sold in two-liter packages. The price of cooking oil is according to the highest retail price (HET) which is IDR 14,000 per liter for premium packaging," he added.

During a dialogue with the salesperson, Lutfi found that ten cartons of cooking oil were sold out in one day. However, if there are many buyers, the cooking oil can run out faster. But there is no snaking line to get cooking oil.

Meanwhile, when the Minister of Trade visited Lotte Wholesale, he also took the time to have a dialogue with one of the employees there. Lutfi received a report that there had been a disruption in the supply of two-liter packaged cooking oil, but now it is under control.

In this regard, Lutfi requested the cooperation of all parties, especially modern retailers, to help the community to get cooking oil more easily. Thus, based on the observations of the Minister of Trade to Lotte and Alfamidi in North Jakarta, he stated that the distribution of cooking oil in modern retail is getting better.

"Cooking oil in modern retail is safe for the public, such as at Lotte Mart, Lotte Wholesale, and Alfamidi. We hope that people can find the same thing at other modern retailers," he said.

As previously emphasized, since March 8, 2022, there have been 415,787 tons of cooking oil from the domestic market obligation (DMO) scheme distributed to the market. This volume is equivalent to 72.4 percent of the total DMO that has been collected since February 14, 2022.
