Record 6.1 Million Reports, New Tax Return Submission Reaches 80 Percent

JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) noted that 6.1 million Annual Income Tax Returns (PPh) for 2021 have been reported from January 1 to March 14, 2022 at 08.06 WIB.

However, the number of Annual SPTs submitted this year is still relatively small when compared to the same period in 2021, namely 6.36 million SPTs, consisting of 6.15 million individual taxpayers and 211,793 corporate taxpayers.

Thus, the annual SPT compliance ratio for 2022 to March 14 has only reached 32.12 percent of the 80 percent target.

As reported by Antara, Monday, March 14, the SPT was submitted by 19 million taxpayers consisting of 17.35 million individual taxpayers who collected 5.92 million SPT and 1.65 million corporate taxpayers who reported 183,267 SPT.

The majority of taxpayers report their Annual SPT through e-filing, which is 5.37 million which includes 5.32 million individual taxpayers and 52,055 corporate taxpayers.

Then, there were 392,353 SPTs that were reported via e-form consisting of 294,892 SPTs for individual taxpayers and 97,461 SPTs for corporate taxpayers.

It was also recorded that 119,558 SPTs were reported through e-SPT, which included 112,606 SPTs for individual taxpayers, and 6,952 SPTs for corporate taxpayers.

Meanwhile, the DGT of the Ministry of Finance reported that there are still taxpayers who report SPT manually, which is 218 thousand SPT, which includes 191,201 SPT for individual taxpayers and 26,799 SPT for corporate taxpayers.

The type of corporate income tax return still looks quite minimal considering the deadline for submitting it until April 2022.
