City Government Invites Hipmi To Push Bandung's Economic Growth Up To 5 Percent

JAKARTA - The government of Bandung, West Java invites the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) to collaborate in promoting economic growth. Through this step, the City Government hopes to grow Bandung's economy by 5 percent this year.

"Hopefully, if the prediction of economic growth in West Java is at five percent, in Bandung it can reach 5.5 percent," said Acting Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, quoted by Antara, Sunday, March 13.

He hopes that the transition from the pandemic to the COVID-19 endemic will be the beginning of the collaboration between the Bandung City Government and Hipmi. Because the transition, according to him, must also be accompanied by economic recovery.

"Friends at Hipmi, especially the city of Bandung, can help the city government accelerate economic recovery after the pandemic," he said.

Meanwhile, West Java Hipmi Chairperson Surya Batara Kartika appreciated program innovations from regional heads ranging from governors to mayors and regents in cities and regencies throughout West Java during the pandemic.

In addition to entrepreneurs, he also invites all parties to launch investments so that many new entrepreneurs will grow.

"Investment is not added value. However, investment must become value and create many opportunities and new entrepreneurs," said Surya.
