JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) EVP Corporate Secretary Tjahjo Purnomo said the physical construction of the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang toll road construction project has now reached 97.99 percent.

"The existence of this freeway is one of the government's efforts to make it easier for people in Indonesia to move the flow of goods and people in economic and social activities properly and quickly," said Tjahjo Purnomo in his statement, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, March 8.

Tjahjo Purnomo said that his party continues to accelerate the completion of the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang toll road and now the realization of the physical project or construction of the 31 km Pekanbaru-Bangkinang toll road has reached 97.99 percent and land progress is 97.88 percent.

He said related to land acquisition around the toll road project, Hutama Karya also continues to coordinate with related parties so that land can be acquired immediately and construction can be carried out.

"The progress is currently in the research stage by the LHK Ministry's Integrated Team, so we'll just have to wait," he said.

He said that the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang toll road was planned to be opened before Idul Fitri 2022 and was just waiting for directions from the central government.

He further said that apart from requiring land, toll road construction designed on a large scale also requires capital and is a project that the government relies on to be able to break down congestion and become a source of state treasury income.
