Complains About The Price Of 12 Kilogram Elpiji Gas Which Has Reached Rp. 200,000, Netizens: 'Thank You' Jokowi, The People's President

JAKARTA - Pertamina has officially raised the price of LPG (liquified petroleum gas) starting Sunday, February 27, 2022. The price of LPG that will increase is 5.5 kg and 12 kg, aka non-subsidized LPG. Meanwhile, the price of 3 kg LPG gas is still the same because it is subsidized by the government.

In response to this, netizens using Twitter social media complained about the high price of 12 kg gas cylinders, which reached Rp. 200,000.

Another netizen complained about the increase in the prices of some items that have recently been rare and hard to find.

"BBM goes up, LPG goes up, electricity goes up, cooking oil prices are exorbitant, people suffer more and more as a result of stifling policies. Instead of looking for a solution to solve this problem, they ask for an extension of the president's term of office. YOU ARE HEALTHY...??," wrote the account owner. @KingSuspend_

Previously, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga officially raised the price of non-subsidized LPG by Rp. 15,500 per kilogram (kg). The increase is a gradual increase that has been carried out by Pertamina since the end of December 2021.

The price increase only applies to non-subsidized LPG such as Bright Gas, while for 3 kilograms (kg) subsidized LPG or melon gas there is no change in price.

Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in his remarks at the opening of the National Police Rapim also mentioned the issue of energy scarcity. He said, before the war, prices went up because they were scarce.

However, now the price has gone up again after the war between Ukraine and Russia. So, all parties are asked to be aware of this.

"Before the war the price went up because of scarcity plus the war the price went up again. Now the price per barrel is above 100 which was previously only 50-60, all countries whose name is fuel prices are all rising, all LPG is going up. Be careful with this," he said.
