In Timika, The Price Of Cooking Oil Owned By Conglomerates Martua Sitorus And Eka Tjipta Widjaja Is IDR 15,000 Per Liter

JAKARTA - The price of cooking oil at the Central Market of Timika Papua is observed to vary. Sania, cooking oil from Wilmar, and Kunci Mas belonging to the Sinarmas Group, are sold at IDR 15,000 per liter.

"The price of cooking oil from various brands is now experiencing a decline in prices. Sania and Kunci Mas brands of cooking oil with 1-liter packages are sold for IDR 15,000, and Bimoli brand cooking oil in 2 liters is sold for IDR 45,000", said one of the traders, Nursina, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, March 2.

Cayenne pepper is sold for IDR 70,000 per kilogram, curly chili for IDR 60,000 per kilogram, large chili for IDR 70,000 per kilogram, and green chili for IDR 50,000 per kilogram. The type of chili that experienced an increase in price, namely paprika, was sold for IDR 80,000 per kilogram.

The prices of several commodities sold by traders in Timika are onions at IDR 55,000 per kilogram, garlic at IDR 40,000 per kilogram, tomatoes at IDR 25,000 per kilogram, Japanese pumpkin IDR 25,000 per kilogram, potatoes IDR 25,000 per kilogram, carrots IDR 25,000 per kilogram.

Furthermore, green beans are IDR 30,000 per kilogram, red beans are IDR 50,000 per kilogram, and peanuts are IDR 35,000 per kilogram.

Meanwhile, beef still stands at IDR 135,000 per kilogram or has not changed since the Christmas and New Year holidays some time ago.

Hamzah, one of the meat sellers at the Timika Central Market, Tuesday, said that beef sales are currently quite sluggish because consumers are turning to chicken and fish.

"For beef, the price is still stable at IDR 135,000 per kilogram, it has been going on since Christmas and New Year. The stock is quite large, the average shipment is from Surabaya", she said.

According to her, consumers, especially residents, now buy a lot of frozen chicken, with a selling price of IDR 40,000 per kilogram, or a slight decrease, from IDR 43,000 to IDR 45,000 per kilogram.

Hamzah, who has opened a meat stall for eight years at the Timika Central Market, admitted that he could sell up to 100 kilograms of frozen chicken in a day.

Sales of chicken meat are increasingly in demand, he continued, especially at the beginning of the month when most residents only receive their monthly salary.

"Most of them are indigenous people, they usually buy up to one sack. Currently, the stock of chicken in Timika is quite a lot", said Hamzah.

The chicken eggs in Timika are now sold at a price range of IDR 60,000 to IDR 65,000 per shelf. As with the price of beef, several types of vegetables also remain stable in price.
