Who Is The Veteran Investor, Lo Kheng Hong, RI's Warren Buffett, Who Once Lived A Difficult Life In A 4x10 Meter Narrow Space

JAKARTA - For true stock investors, they know very well who Lo Kheng Hong is. His expertise in bringing money is a reference for other investors in their activities on the stock exchange floor. He is even compared to the figure of Warren Buffett, an investor from the United States.

Lo Kheng Hong was born in Pontianak on February 20, 1959. The eldest of three children spent his childhood in difficult circumstances. Living in Jakarta with his father, Lo Kheng Hong is said to have lived in a narrow house measuring 4x10 meters aka 40 square meters.

However, he was not discouraged. Lo Kheng Hong is well aware that the distance to prosperity can be cut through education. In 1979, he decided to study at the National University of Jakarta majoring in English Literature by taking evening classes. While in the afternoon, he works as an administrative employee at PT Overseas Express Bank (OEB).

The turning point in Lo Kheng Hong's life occurred in 1989 when he started to engage in stock trading. He said the first shares to be purchased were PT Gajah Surya Multi Finance at the time of the initial public offering.

A year later he decided to continue his professional career at Bank Ekonomi. Without waiting for long, in 1991 Lo Kheng Hong was entrusted as the head of a branch of a business unit of Bank Ekonomi.

The allure of stock profits seems too great to be ignored. In 1996, Lo Kheng Hong decided to stop being an employee and concentrate fully on his activities on the trading floor.

Just so you know, one of the literature states that he has jumbo stock assets with an estimated valuation of Rp. 2.5 trillion ten years ago.

One of his well-known statements is that being a stock investor can make you rich even if you just sleep, because you have a public company whose stock price is always increasing and generating huge profits.

Although Lo Kheng Hong's sweet story can be an inspiration for the wider community to achieve financial freedom, it should be remembered that the benefits are commensurate with the risks faced. Thus, wisdom is needed in placing funds and choosing legal investment instruments. High risk, high return.
