'Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I Launch InJourney, A Tourism BUMN Holding', Said President Jokowi In Lombok NTB

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has just inaugurated the merger of tourism and supporting State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) (InJourney) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). This holding has actually been formed at the end of 2021.

"And by saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I launch InJourney, the Tourism and Supporting BUMN Holding, today in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara," he said at a press conference, quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube account, Thursday, January 13.

Jokowi said in the last two years the tourism sector had been hit and experienced a deep contraction. Whereas before the amendment this sector was able to make a significant contribution to the national economy.

Therefore, said Jokowi, Indonesia must take a leap of momentum to organize, transform and build a stronger and more resilient ecosystem

The former Governor of DKI Jakarta also believes that the Tourism and Supporting SOEs will be a big force to improve the performance of the tourism sector in the country.

"I am sure, God willing, Pak Dony (Director of Indonesian Tourism Aviation Dony Oskaria) with long experience in this field is able to do this," he said.

On the same occasion, SOE Minister Erick Thohir said that the purpose of establishing the Tourism and Supporting SOE holding was to develop and create domestic tourism.

"The potential for domestic tourism so far is still very large, but it is not integrated. Therefore, we try to integrate all of you, both from the infrastructure and of course from the software. This means the activities in it," said Erick.

For your information, the Tourism and Supporting BUMN Holding was officially formed at the end of last year. Holding is led by PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia (Persero) as the parent of the holding.

The members of this BUMN holding are PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero); PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero); PT Hotel Indonesia Natour (Persero); PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko (Persero) and PT Sarinah (Persero).
