JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) initiated the 2022 New Year Virtual Gathering of the Financial Services Sector in order to increase synergy and cooperation with various stakeholders in continuing efforts to restore the national economy.

Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners, Wimboh Santoso, said that synergies were important in making policies and monitoring their implementation so as to produce competitive, preemptive rules and mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Through the effectiveness of various policy stimulus in the government sector, the financial sector, and other sectors, it is hoped that the stability of the financial services sector will be better maintained," he said in a press statement quoted on Wednesday, January 5.

On the same occasion, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan conveyed the importance of cooperation both internally and with all OJK stakeholders in solving various problems in the financial services sector.

"If we do it with teamwork, with our heart, we work really and don't feel the greatest, and most know for sure there are many things that we can solve," he said.

Similarly, the Coordinator for Politics, Law, and Human Rights Mahfud MD supports various national economic recovery programs as well as strengthening the financial services sector in order to prevent criminal acts in this sector.

"I hope that we all support Indonesia in the international assessment process related to policies and implementation of the anti-money laundering regime and the prevention of terrorism financing," he said.

"I hope, of course, the OJK together with us at the Ministry of Finance, then Bank Indonesia and LPS in the KSSK forum can jointly oversee economic recovery in an effective, reliable, credible manner and on the other hand also continue to support the formula in terms of important reforms, especially in the financial sector," she said.
