JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) operates three electricity infrastructures worth Rp. 114 billion to welcome investment and industrial growth in the region.

The three infrastructures are the 150 kV Sinar Sahabat Substation, the 150 kV Sinar Sahabat Substation Extension Line Bay, and the 150 kV Sinar Sahabat SUTT - Incomer (Citra Habitat - Legok) Circuit #2.

General Manager of PLN West Java Development Main Unit (PLN UIP JBB), Ratnasari Sjamsuddin said the operation of the three infrastructures was marked by energizing by the West Java 3 Project Implementing Unit (UPP JBB 3).

Ratna said that the success of energizing the three electricity infrastructures is expected to improve service to customers, and has the potential to attract new customers in the Banten area of up to 218 MVA.

"The construction of this project will improve the quality of PLN's services, especially for premium customers," said Ratna, in a written statement, Thursday, December 16.

Ratna said the investment in the three electricity infrastructures was worth Rp. 114 billion, with the domestic component level or TKDN in the three electricity projects reaching 73 percent. This is in line with the company's commitment and directives from the government.

The project, which is located in Mekar Jaya Village, Panongan District, Tangerang Regency, was built because of the needs of several industrial consumers including PT Cels Teknologi Indonesia, which is engaged in the Data Center sector.

Not only that, the construction of electricity infrastructure will also electrify consumers in the Curug, Citra Habitat, Legok, and BSD areas located around Tangerang Regency.

"PT Cels Teknologi Indonesia is a premium customer in the Banten area. The need for optimal electricity supply is our concern where the operation of this development will support the advancement of digital and operational data information from PT Cels Teknologi Indonesia," he said.

The three electricity infrastructures began to be built in 2018. Along the way, the development was quite challenging, especially in the construction of the 150 kV SUTT Sinar Sahabat-Inc. (Habitat Image - Legok). Some of the obstacles that occurred were experienced, namely from the aspect of the mechanism of partners and the COVID-19 pandemic that occurred in early 2020.

"During the construction process there were challenges where the material supply manufacturer went bankrupt, hampering the development process. In addition, the COVID-19 pandemic caused the Commercial Operation Date (COD) schedule change to be pushed back to 2024 to meet the balance of electricity supply capacity," said Ratna. .

However, in September 2021 there will be dynamic changes where there are new power requests from Prima Consumers in the Banten area, including from PT Cels Teknologi Indonesia, PT Bhineka Berkat Sentosa, PT Buma, PT Karsa Sarana Bersama, PT Cipta Asset Digital, and Data Center Summarecon Serpong.

This condition makes PLN UIP JBB need to accelerate the operation of the 150 kV Sinar Sahabat GI installation, which was previously targeted in 2024 to 2021.

This made the construction process accelerated in 3 months starting from early October to December 2021 with the initial operation of Single Phi Circuit #2 on December 12, 2021.

"We have carried out a series of accelerations for the construction of this construction, including by centrally optimizing the Main Transmission Material (MTU). The implementation of the acceleration of the construction of the 150 kV Sinar Sahabat GI is so that it can operate in accordance with customer expectations while maintaining the quality and quality of development," said Ratna.

The construction of the 150 kV Sinar Sahabat - Incomer SUTT (Citra Habitat - Legok) Circuit #2 consists of 4 Incomer Tower sets, consisting of 1 DDR6 +3 Tower Unit, 2 DDR6 +6 Tower Units, and 1 DDR6 +15 Tower Unit. This project receives electricity from the 150 kV Citra Habitat Substation and the 150 kV Legok Substation, which are Lengkong Subsystems 1 and 2 and Balaraja Subsystems 3 and 4.

"COVID-19 in Indonesia has shown a downward trend and industrial enthusiasm has started to rise again, so it must be supported by the best quality electricity," he said.
