Expanding Natural Gas Utilization, Pertamina Gas Subholding Launches Gaslink

Gaslink C-cyl is Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for industrial and commercial sector customers

JAKARTA – One of Pertamina's Gas Subholding affiliates, namely PT Gagas Energi Indonesia (Gagas), has reintroduced Gaslink C-Cyl with a fresher packaging. Gaslink C-cyl is Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for industrial and commercial sector customers which is distributed using tubes with a capacity of 20-25 M3 or equivalent to 20Kg.

PGN Director of Sales and Operations Faris Aziz explained, the presence of Gaslink C-cyl will further expand the use of natural gas, especially for customers who are still not covered by piped gas, both for the industrial and commercial sectors including MSMEs so that they can experience the benefits and advantages of natural gas.

"For that, we provide Gaslink and Gaslink C-cyl which are operated by Gagas," said Faris in an official statement, Tuesday, December 14.

Apart from being a tube, there is also a box-shaped Gaslink C-cyl with a larger capacity of around 50 M3. As of November 2021, Gagas has distributed around 4.84 BBTUD to 161 Gaslink customers.

Gaslink C-cyl has been introduced by Gagas since early 2021 as an alternative for distributing Gaslink, especially for customers who have limited land and the need for natural gas usage is still relatively small (around 300 M3 per month).

For the regular Gaslink distribution scheme, Gagas will distribute natural gas through the Gas Transport Module (GTM) which carries natural gas from the SPBG directly to the customer's location.

Until December 2021, Gaslink C-cyl has served customers in Jakarta, Tangerang, Surabaya to Lampung from various industrial sectors, restaurants to hotels with an average distribution of 0.025 BBTUD per month. In the future, Gaslink C-cyl is planned to expand its reach to several cities such as Semarang, Cilegon and Batam. One of the Gaslink C-cyl users who has felt the benefits of being able to provide an efficiency of around 10-15 percent for the use of fuel in the cooking process. "Moreover, the payment scheme is also very easy, we use the gas first and then pay," said Bambang as Operations Manager of the Morning Sunter Restaurant.

On the same occasion, the Managing Director of Gagas, Muhammad Hardiansyah explained, Gaslink C-cyl is an alternative for natural gas distribution that carries the concept of HER or Honest, Efficient and Reliable.

"In addition to targeting industrial and commercial targets, we also aim at Gaslink C-cyl primarily for customers in the MSME sector. We hope that the various conveniences offered by Gaslink C-cyl, including the payment system, can provide added value for users," he said.
