JAKARTA - The Director of State Asset Management and Information Systems of the Ministry of Finance, Purnama T. Sianturi, opens options for other ministries/agencies and government institutions to take advantage of confiscated assets from the Jiwasraya corruption case.

One of the assets offered is a recreational boat (cruise) belonging to the convict Heru Hidayat, which is estimated to be worth around IDR 7.4 billion.

"For example, there is a ministry or an institution that requires it, then he must apply to the Attorney General's Office, then the Attorney General's Office will forward his application for approval to the Ministry of Finance. But later, the position will not be a grant, but a Determination of the Status of Use (PSP)", she said when giving a press statement via a virtual channel, Friday, December 10.

According to Purnama, the utilization step is possible if the auction option does not come to fruition.

To note, the utilization through the PSP scheme emerged following the unsolvability of the luxury ship when it was offered to the public through the Makassar State Property and Auction Service Office (KPKNL) late last month.

If in several auctions the intended asset has not been sold, the government will distribute it as a grant to the relevant ministry/institution and local government (Pemda) to utilize the asset. On a note, there are no state institutions that apply for utilization through the PSP scheme.

“Usually there will be re-auctions up to several times with the consideration of the Attorney General's Office. If it doesn't sell, there is also another door, namely that the ship could be given as a grant to the local government in need”, she said.

For information, the value of state looted goods donated to various institutions in the last three years amounted to IDR 132.27 billion.

Meanwhile, state-owned goods distributed through the PSP mechanism amounted to IDR 500.91 billion, with details of IDR 20.60 billion in 2019, IDR 404.06 billion in 2020, and IDR 76.25 billion in 2021.
