Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Awarded Oil Safety Appreciation To Pertamina Gas Subholding

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources awarded 20 oil and gas safety awards to Pertamina's gas subholding, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN)

This award is for the commitment to the implementation of sustainable business governance and the achievement of a healthy and safe work environment.

PGN's Director of Infrastructure and Technology, Achmad Muchtasyar, said that this achievement was obtained because his party was committed to prioritizing work safety in carrying out operational and technical operations. This includes infrastructure development.

"Infrastructure development is carried out selectively and adheres to the principles of HSSE (Health Safety Security and Environment) to keep achieving zero accident," said Achmad Muchtasyar, in an official statement, Wednesday, November 24.

The oil and gas safety management system, said Achmad, is important for the sustainability of Subholding Gas as one of the oil and gas industries. Considering the oil and gas industry has big risks both in terms of investment and operations.

“Oil and gas safety management is implemented in order to create a risk-aware culture regarding Occupational Health and Safety (K3) in all work areas. Synergy with the government is also important to maintain the safety of oil and gas, one of which is with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources,” he said. Gas Subholding implements a sustainable HSSE management system by launching a Zero Tolerance Performance Target. Among them, Zero Tolerance to Accidents That Eliminate Work Days, Zero Tolerance to Operational Failure or Major Property Damage, and Zero Tolerance to Security Disturbances to Assets.

Subholding Gas also carries out environmental responsibility in every business activity of the company. Consistently, careful environmental aspects are studied from the planning, execution to evaluation stages of construction and operational activities in accordance with applicable environmental management standards, in order to achieve environmentally friendly business activities.

“Through this award, we hope to encourage the Subholding Gas Group to continue to implement a work safety culture. Moreover, until now we must remain alert and vigilant in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Considering that a safe and environmentally friendly work environment has a major role in supporting development targets and the development of the Gas Subholding infrastructure," said Achmad.

The Patra Karya category is related to the implementation of the oil and gas safety management system in the Technical Head's Working Area. Meanwhile, the Patra Nirbaya category is related to achieving safe working hours in the Technical Head's Work Area (No fatality and/or fallow accidents, property damage exceeding 10,000 US dollars, or oil spills exceeding 15 barrels).
