Kulonprogo, 22 May 2025 Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY) again held a community service program with the theme "The Community Economic Education and Development Marketplace". This activity was held on 22 May 2025 in Kulonprogo Regency, targeting Muhammadiyah residents as the main participant.
This program is an initiative of Dimas Bagus Wiranatakusuma, lecturer of the Economic Study Program (IPIEF) of the UMY Faculty of Economics and Business. This activity aims to introduce the potential and benefits of using marketplace platforms, especially in supporting the education sector and the economic independence of citizens.
In his presentation, Dimas explained that the marketplace is now not only a means of buying and selling necessities, but also growing as a channel for the distribution of knowledge and education services. Based on the results of a survey of activity participants, there are several interesting findings related to the behavior of digital consumers in the Muhammadiyah Kulonprogo environment.

This activity also supports SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 10 (Reducing Inequality). By introducing the use of marketplaces for education and economic development, UMY encourages the people of Muhammadiyah to be more adaptive to digital changes and be more financially independent.
Dimas emphasized, Education and the economy cannot be separated. Marketplaces that are oriented towards educational content can be a bridge to people who are more digitally literate, more skilled, and more economically independent.
The enthusiasm of participants can be seen from the high participation in discussions and experience sharing sessions. Many residents expressed their hope that similar activities can continue to be carried out regularly in various other branches and branches of Muhammadiyah.
UMY through its service program is committed to continuing to make knowledge a real means of empowerment, not only in the classroom, but also directly present in people's lives.
