YOGYAKARTA - The arrest of young actor Jeff Smith for using marijuana raises many interesting issues. One of them is about a book about the cannabis plant that was seized with Jeff Smith at his residence in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.

One of the books that has been secured by the police is Hikayat Pohon Ganja, a book released by Lingkar Ganja Nusantara (LGN). Hikayat Pohon Ganja is the first and most comprehensive book that reviews marijuana in Indonesia objectively.

In this book, LGN presents various facts and data related to the use of the cannabis plant in the archipelago. "The interesting thing is that we found four books related to the cannabis plant," said West Jakarta Police Chief Kombes Pol Ady Wibowo at the West Jakarta Police, Monday, April 21.

Marijuana-themed books are still being explored

Regarding the media crew at a press held at the West Jakarta Metro Police, Monday, April 19, the police said they would investigate the findings. For Ady, this finding is one of the interesting things about Jeff Smith's arrest.

"That's why the interesting thing was that we found four books related to the cannabis plant ... We will explore it later, which is certain to be while we focus on the criminal element," said Ady.

Still related to Jeff Smith's four books, Ady again emphasized that his party is still in depth. For now the police are still concentrating on allegations of narcotics abuse.

"So we are studying this victory. We focus on the elements of the article of abuse," said Ady.

Previously, Head of West Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit AKP Arif Purnama Oktora in his statement on Saturday, April 17 explained that his party had found four reading books about marijuana. The books were obtained after the arrest of Jeff Smith at his residence, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.

"There was a reading book about marijuana that was found while checking at JS's house. It has been confiscated," said Arif.

To the police, Jeff Smith even admitted that he did collect books about marijuana. Jeff Smith stated, the books were only for education only.

"According to JS for education about marijuana," added Arif.

As additional information, Jeff Smith was arrested by Unit 1 of the West Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit under the leadership of AKP Arif Purnama Oktora on Thursday, April 15, 2021. During the arrest, the police confiscated drugs in his car.

After the arrest, the police then carried out a urine test on Jeff Smith. The results of Jeff Smith's urine experiment were reported to be positive for marijuana.
