Quoting an interview with Deadline, the Russo Brothers said Holland had lost 30 kg for the character Cherry. Though Holland doesn't have much time to take care of his physical transformation but all is done for the sake of this film.

Tom Holland begins to remove the Spider-Man image from the MCU. In order to expand his filmography and prove his abilities, he took on complicated roles and stories. Cherry is a combination of all the complexities of a man in his love life, career, self-discovery and life choices.

Holland's acting was also praised by the Russo Brothers. On releasing six different Cherry posters, the Russo Brothers said, "Only @ TomHolland1996 can play this character with the reach, intensity, warmth, humor, tragedy and sadness needed."

However, the new Cherry film opens to the public in theaters on February 26 and streaming service Apple TV + on March 12.
