Reading The Reasons For Wanting Riza Patria To Leave The DPR In Order To Become The Deputy Governor Of DKI

JAKARTA - The chairman of the DPP Gerindra Party, Ahmad Riza Patria, is getting stronger as a candidate for the Jakarta Deputy Governor candidate who will be promoted by the Gerindra Party. In fact, currently Riza still serves as a member of Commission V DPR RI for the period 2019-2024.

Even so, Riza admits that she is ready to resign from her position, if PKS agrees to become a candidate for DKI Deputy Governor, competing with one candidate from PKS. Moreover, if Gerindra General Chair Prabowo Subianto has given an order that Riza must resign and get an interim replacement (PAW) with other Gerindra cadres in the DPR.

"So, there is no choice because anyone who steps forward must resign, including me if later nominated. The consequences must be prepared and proven," said Riza in Jakarta, December 29.

"As a good party cadre, I have to be obedient. If there are other assignments, I have to be obedient and obedient. That is a form of loyalty, loyalty and obedience to party policies," he added.

After this, said Riza, there will be an agreement on the names of two candidates, one for each party, to be selected to accompany DKI Governor Anies Baswedan. "Replaced with one from PKS, one from the Gerindra Party," said Riza.

Continuing, the chairman of the DPD Gerindra DKI Muhammad Taufik had a reason for his party to choose Riza from a total of four people who were nominated by Gerindra. Other names are the Advisory Board of the DPP Gerindra Arnes Lukman, Deputy Chairperson of Gerindra Ferry Juliantono, and Regional Secretary of DKI Saefullah.

Taufik said, Riza is a person who quite understands the problems of Jakarta. "Pak Riza has sufficient experience in DKI. He was once the chairman of the KNPI, a youth figure in Jakarta. So when asked about Jakarta, Riza really understands," said Taufik.

Political observer from Al-Azhar University, Ujang Komarudin, considers it natural why Riza is willing to leave his position from the Senayan parliament in order to nominate him as number two in Jakarta.

According to Ujang, regional heads are potential positions. With a position in the executive branch, he becomes the holder of policy execution in a region.

"Being an official in the executive is more profitable. Because he is the one who executes the policies of the DKI Provincial Government and has the right to budget. In the DPR, we only convey aspirations to the government," said Ujang.

Even though the position of Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI will end in 2022, Riza is not as bad as getting 2 years of office vacant if she renounces her membership in the DPR.

"If he sacrifices the remaining 2 years of office from 2022 to 2024, later he will have a qualified track record to run again as a candidate for regional head because he once held Jakarta," said Ujang.

For information, some time ago PKS has presented two of its cadres, namely the General Secretary of the DPW PKS DKI Agung Yulianto and former Deputy Mayor of Bekasi Ahmad Syaikhu to the DKI DPRD to be elected. However, along the way, these two names have not been followed up, so Gerindra tries to bring up another name.

After this, the official decisions of the candidates for each party will be announced in early January. Until finally, the election process for the Deputy Governor of DKI, which had stalled, will be continued.

He continued, after one candidate from the two parties was elected each, the DKI DPRD will hold a joint leadership meeting (rapimgab) to ratify the order (tatib) for the election of DKI Deputy Governor.

Then, the DPRD forms a voting committee (panlih) which will work with reference to the guidelines to determine one name. This name will later occupy the second person seat in DKI.
