The Story Of A KPK Employee Who Was Offered A Job At A BUMN To Saut Situmorang: They Said, I Really Can't Find A Job On My Own

JAKARTA - Former Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Saut Situmorang, revealed the story of several KPK employees who did not pass the National Insight Test (TWK) and were offered jobs in State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN).

"Even though there is diplomacy, they say, 'no. If I want, I can work on my own. There's no need for offers.' They said so," said Saut when contacted by VOI by telephone, Friday, September 17.

However, unfortunately Saut did not specify who told him about it. However, Saut is sure that Novel Baswedan and 56 other employees will have no trouble getting jobs.

This is because they have run a number of tests to enter the anti-corruption commission which are more difficult and have an attitude of unquestionable integrity.

"Obviously, yes, so they have really been tested. This is a question of injustice. If then the Indonesian people are silent about this, no. This must be resisted," he said. Furthermore, Saut said that the dozens of employees were tough people. "I always say, including at the opening of the emergency office, I say, 'if they eat, these children who trade meatballs can also eat'. But this is actually related to justice and honesty," he said.

Previously reported, 57 employees can no longer work at the KPK because they cannot become ASN according to the mandate of the KPK Law Number 19 of 2019.

The employees include senior KPK investigators Novel Baswedan and Ambarita Damanik, Chairman of the KPK Employee Forum Yudi Purnomo, KPK investigator Harun Al-Rasyid, and dozens of other names.

The anti-corruption commission argued that their inability to become ASN was not due to laws and regulations such as Perkom KPK Number 1 of 2021, but because of the results of their assessment.

Not only that, the KPK also ensures that employees have been given the same opportunities even if they have passed the age limit or have stopped being ASN.
