Jakarta - MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani reminded that the Free Nutritious Meal Program or MBG must be run with good governance, targeted, and accountable.

Muzani conveyed this at the Annual Session of the MPR and the Joint Session of the DPR and DPD at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, August 14.

According to Muzani, after 81 years of independence, Indonesia has indeed recorded progress in various fields. However, the basic issues have not been completely resolved.

"There are still children who go to school without breakfast. There are still families who have to choose between buying food or paying for treatment," said Muzani.

In that condition, the MPR considers MBG as one of the programs to support the realization of the Golden Generation 2045.

Muzani said the program not only concerns food distribution, but also relates to nutritional fulfillment and human quality development.

The target includes children, pregnant women, and vulnerable groups.

However, he emphasized that good intentions must still be followed by the right implementation.

"Our common task is to ensure that good intentions are implemented with good governance, targeted, and accountable," he said.

Muzani said that meeting nutritional needs was a long-term investment so that Indonesian children could grow healthy and be able to compete.

This statement places governance and the accuracy of the recipient as an important part of the implementation of MBG, in addition to the size of the program coverage.
