TOMOHON - The Wanua Woloan Festival is encouraged to be included in the North Sulawesi tourism and culture calendar so that its implementation does not stop at one event, but takes place regularly every year.

The Special Staff of the North Sulawesi Governor for Arts and Culture, Erik Dayoh, said the festival was important to preserve cultural heritage while strengthening community identity.

"This Wanua Woloan Festival should not only be an event, but it must be an ecosystem that must be maintained and implemented every year," said Erik in a written statement received Monday, August 10.

According to Erik, the Wanua Woloan Festival has a role in maintaining the living cultural heritage in the community.

"Culture is the foundation for forming our self-esteem and identity," he said.

Erik also encouraged the organization of the festival next year to be more interesting so that it can reach more people and tourists.

He ensured that the North Sulawesi Provincial Government supports the implementation of the Wanua Woloan Festival.

"The provincial government is very supportive and of course supportive," said Erik.

Furthermore, Erik said, one of the steps that needs to be taken is to include the Wanua Woloan Festival in the calendar of tourism and culture activities in North Sulawesi.

By entering the official agenda, the festival is expected to have a more definite schedule and reach a wider audience.

"Hopefully this activity can be included in the calendar of activities or tourism and cultural agendas, so that more people will enjoy and appreciate this festival," said Erik.
