Ex-Wife of Police Found Dead Allegedly Committing Suicide with a Gun in Medan

MEDAN - The former wife of a policeman was found dead allegedly committing suicide using her ex-husband's gun at her in-laws' house located in the Bumi Asri Housing Complex, Jalan Asrama, Medan Helvetia District, Medan City, North Sumatra, on Sunday, August 2.

The victim, who has the initials W, is a 35-year-old woman who is the former wife of Brigadier General I in the bathroom of the house.

Now the police are still investigating the motive behind the suicide. Meanwhile, the ex-husband who is a member of the Medan Sunggal Police, Polrestabes Medan is still being examined at the North Sumatra Regional Police Bidpropam.

Satreskrim Polrestabes Medan who were at the location after receiving information immediately carried out the scene of the crime (TKP). The victim's body was evacuated to Bhayangkara Hospital Medan for autopsy.

Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Regional Police, Kombes Pol Ferry Walintukan, said the tragic incident occurred at around 16.00 WIB in the afternoon.

"At that time, Brigadier I and his ex-wife were resting at a house in Bumi Asri Housing. However, while resting, Brigadier I's weapon was taken by his ex-wife from inside the bag," said Kombes Ferry Wednesday, August 5.

Brigadier I who knew his gun was missing immediately searched for it. It turned out, he found his gun in the hands of his ex-wife in the bathroom.

There was communication, but not long after the sound of the eruption. Hearing the sound of the eruption, Brigadier General I saw the victim had been covered in blood in the bathroom and died.

Ferry revealed that currently this case of alleged suicide using firearms is handled by the Medan Police and Bid Propam North Sumatra Police to find out the motive for the suicide.
